God requires a sacrifice to pay back the debt.

Forgiveness is easy. A bank can forgive your loan just by saying so.

But the bank doesn’t automatically get the money back that they loaned to you. That’s still gone.

For Justice to be met — for the books to be balanced — someone has to pay back the debt.

Jesus died to pay back your debt. Jesus died to meet all the demands of Justice. Jesus balanced the books.
