Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Repentance always involves sin.

Why?

Because repentance means turning away from something bad to something good.

If people had to repent to enter the Kingdom of God, it means they were living or thinking or acting in a way that would be inconsistent with the Kingdom of God. They had to change to enter.

And what is inconsistent with God? Only sin.

If you weren’t guilty of sin, you’d never have to repent. That’s why Jesus never did.

And yes, Jesus’ love is unconditional.

Our reception of it isn’t. Neither are our actions always consistent with it. If we don’t repent, we can’t enter the Kingdom that’s built on this love.
