Debt is carried by the one who incurs it. If I take out a loan for $10,000, I'm the one carrying the loan. It's my responsibility to pay it back.

Jesus can take my debt on Himself, taking on the responsibility to pay back the $10,000.

Jesus can pay back that money, eliminating the debt.

God, in the sense of the full Trinity, never carries the debt.

Jesus does, but Jesus takes it on to pay it back.
