As I distinguish in the article, that's a lie, not a myth.
A myth is not simply a lie. People can lie all day about normal things like being a U.S. citizen or not.
A myth is, properly speaking, mythical. It adds in larger-than-life details, like working miracles.
The bit about the birth certificate is a common lie, not a myth, by any stretch.
