Hello Paul, thanks for taking the time to comment.

Yes, what you wrote agrees with my first paragraph. That's how evangelicals are often portrayed today.

But it's the opposite of what evangelism accomplishes.

As Acts 15 narrates, when the Gospel goes forth in power, Christians rejoice that racial barriers crumble.

This is what I see today.

If you only know about evangelicals as a political force, it's easy to believe the rumors and slander that they're hateful, and so forth.

But if you go to where the Gospel is advancing and people are meeting Christ, you'll watch as these barriers crumble. People rejoice at becoming one. Unity grows and divisions disappear.

Consider the food shelf at my evangelical church. We serve everyone; there are no barriers. We serve every race, every gender, every creed, every ethnicity. If you're hungry, we feed you.

Why? Because Jesus loves everyone, so we do, too.

That's what the real Gospel of Jesus does. It reaches across division and unites in the truth and love in His Name.
