Hello Siri, thanks for taking the time to respond.

You said:

“What Christians don't know is that Jesus did not die on the cross. He was not dead when Jesus was brought down. I think he was on the cross for 6 hours. The guards usually break the legs to hasten death but they thought he was dead and hence I think they pierced his chest to check?”

Jesus did indeed die.

It was not physically possible for Jesus to come down from the Cross alive.

How do we know?

They punctured His heart with a spear, until blood and water flowed out.

You simply can’t live with your heart cut in two by a spear thrust.

John 19:33-34

“But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water.”

The heart is surrounded by a sac of clear liquid, which would look like water upon being pierced. This is the water that flowed. The blood is obvious — if you pierce the sac around the heart, you’ve probably pierced the heart as well, and the blood flowed out as proof.

Jesus was dead.

That’s why the Resurrection matters so much.

This isn’t a monk reviving from a coma.

It’s a dead person coming back to life.
