Hello Timothy,

Thanks for taking the time to write.

You said:

“Tell me, how did the serpent get in the garden? Did Big G let the gate open by mistake?”

Read the whole story, my friend, and it all becomes clear.

God gave humanity dominion over the earth:

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion ...” (Genesis 1:26).

The serpent was there to exercise dominion over. God gave them all they needed to exert dominion of the serpent: God told him the truth, God told them they would have to exert dominion over all the creation, God showed them his nature and character by providing everything they would ever need and making all of it very good.

Armed with that, they should have been able to resist the serpent’s lies and exert dominion over it. Their failure was that they let the serpent exert dominion over them.

Yes, God allowed the serpent to be there, as one of the many things humanity was intended to exert dominion over.

You said:

“You want to believe that story so badly, you actually make s*** up that is never stated in scripture: write the verse where it says they were blissfully happy-as you write. It doesn’t exist. “

Again, it’s evident in the text. Think of everything we’re told:

- They exist in a literal paradise where every need is provided for.
- There is no evil. No hatred, no loss, no depression.
- There is no anxiety or worry. Why would there be? Every need is provided for, and everything around them is good.
- The husband and wife are naked and feel no shame with each other. There is literally nothing in the personalities that they are ashamed of. They are completely open with each other.
- They have a personal, direct relationship with God, who can answer all of their questions and help them with any troubles.

Anyone would be blissfully happy in that circumstance!

The text gives us additional proof that they are happy: they don’t go anywhere near the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, until the serpent gets their attention. They are satisfied. They have no need to go there, because everything else is provided for.

You said:

“BTW, the Jews stole still story from Horus, but I’m not surprised you didn’t know that: most don’t”

I think you’ve got your stories confused, my friend. People don’t usually try to claim that the garden of Eden was taken from Horus. They tried to claim that Jesus’ death and resurrection was taken from Horus.

Either way, the claim is bunk. Simply comparing the stories shows you how different they are. They only bear similarities in the vaguest of terms. In all the details that matter to the story, they are starkly different.
