Mankind is finite. We begin to exist. We need to be caused to begin existing. We fail. We sin.

God is infinite. He never begins to exist. He exists without being caused to exist. God never fails. God never sins.

We cannot become like God and attain His qualities. He is so completely Other than we are that we can never become like Him. We can never become infinite. We are finite — we began. We can never become uncaused. We were caused.

God is God.

We are not, and we will never be.

And that is a very, very good thing.
