Sadly, Christianity Today is a for-profit organization. They are not a ministry. They write that they think people will read, and that includes scandals. Unfortunately, people love to read dirt about famous people, whether it's true or not.
In Ravi's case, there is no credible evidence leveled against him. The charges may be true, or may not be true, but we can't know for sure, because there is nothing credible attached to the allegations.
I wish they had done a more thorough investigation and found something credible -- anything -- before writing about it. This is terrible journalism and, as you pointed out, a terrible way to handle the topic. If they wanted us to think about God and repent, they could have said so.
